Nemours Children's Health is seeking a Director of Advanced Practice Provider (APPs). The Director is a key leadership role responsible for the strategic oversight, operational excellence, and professional development of the APP workforce at Nemours. This individual will lead a team of APP Managers and oversee the entire APP team, ensuring alignment with organizational goals, clinical excellence, and regulatory compliance. The Director will serve as the primary advocate for APPs, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement. The Director will also serve to represent the administrative and practice interests of Nemours Jacksonville to the APP team.
The director is responsible for establishing a framework for leadership and governance, recruitment and workforce development, education and professional development, clinical practices, quality outcomes reporting, and compliance. The director will be a member of the senior leadership team at Nemours in Jacksonville. The director will allocate their time equally between administrative duties (0.5 FTE) and clinical responsibilities (0.5 FTE) within their respective specialty. The director will report directly to the Chief Nursing Officer.

Responsible for valuating performance of APPs in collaboration with medical staff leadership.
Evaluates and enhances structures and processes for advanced practice including recruitment, onboarding, credentialing, academic partnerships, continuing education, quality improvement, APP clinical advancement model, and research.
Champions the mission, vision, and values of the organization, serving as a role model for professional standards and behavior.
Promotes the engagement of Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) in organizational initiatives, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous professional development.
Acts as a key liaison between APPs, nursing leadership, and medical staff to ensure cohesive, collaborative care delivery.
Cultivates partnerships with academic institutions and professional organizations to advance the role and visibility of APPs.
Leads and facilitates governance structures such as APP Councils and leadership meetings to support communication, development, and shared decision-making.
Supports the dissemination and implementation of clinical guidelines and educational initiatives across APP teams.
Collaborates with physician leaders in the recruitment, onboarding, and retention of APPs, ensuring a high-performing workforce.
Assists in the APP credentialing process and represents APP interests in medical staff credentialing committees at Nemours and our partner institutions.
Maintains clinical practice to support licensure requirements and model evidence-based, collaborative care.
Demonstrates clinical expertise across the lifespan, with a focus on pediatric populations.
Engages in ongoing professional development to remain current with clinical and leadership best practices.
Fosters a culture of inquiry and innovation, supporting evidence-based practice and research initiatives.
Demonstrates fiscal stewardship through budget development and resource management in collaboration with senior nursing leadership.
Leads quality improvement initiatives, identifying opportunities to enhance patient outcomes and operational efficiency.
Directs special projects and strategic initiatives as assigned by senior nursing leadership.
Manages hiring, performance evaluation, and disciplinary processes in accordance with organizational policies.
Performs additional duties as required to support the advancement of APP practice and organizational goals.
The Director is expected to establish annual performance objectives in collaboration with the CMO/CNO to guide and enhance work efforts.
Additional duties and responsibilities may be assigned by the supervisor or Nemours as needed
Qualifications:
Current certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants or current certification as Pediatric Nurse Practitioner
Florida Licensure as a Physician Assistant required upon hire or Florida Licensure as an Advanced Practice Nurse required upon
Pediatric Nurse Practitioner preferred (PNP) if an Advanced Practice Nurse
BLS required upon hire from the American Heart Association
Experience working with Pediatrics or Child Health preferred
Federal DEA registration either active or required upon hire
Previous leadership experience required
Minimum of ten years of Advanced Practice Provider experience is required
