Program Overview Cybersecurity experts, Scrum and Agile professionals and engineers design and sustain cloud infrastructure to host spacecraft command and control systems. The team provides Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Antenna as a Service (AaaS), Data as a Service (DaaS), and an active Admin Wide Area Network (AWAN) support.
About The Role Peraton is seeking a Senior Cloud Administrator Trainer in our Chantilly, VA office in support of a DoD customer. The role involves design, development, test, and deployment of complex systems in an Agile construct and contributes to mission success for a variety of stakeholders.
What You’ll Do
Create a teachable and repeatable program curriculum used to train multi-tiered cloud-based teams to build mission‑critical, highly available, high‑performance networked systems in a team‑oriented environment.
The coursework will guide teams that support building and deploying cloud instances and applications utilizing automation tools.
Coordinate with operations manager and tier team leads to develop training material based on technologies used by the team in support of the RedHat cloud environment, current process and procedures, certification skill materials, and existing system sustainment playbooks.
Maintain partnership with Red Hat and other vendors to stay up to date with the latest advancements in products and industry best practices; update and develop continuing curriculum as new technology is introduced into the program.
Support related ground system trade studies for continuous lifecycle improvement of the training curriculum as well as for the program's enterprise development, test, and production environments, as needed.
Required Qualifications
Associates degree and 10+ years of experience in a Systems Engineering related field; OR bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field and 8+ years of experience; OR a master’s degree and 6+ years of experience. Additional 4 years of relevant experience will be considered in lieu of a bachelor's degree.
Minimum of Top‑Secret clearance with the ability to obtain TS/SCI; the candidate must maintain the clearance.
Experience developing cloud, engineering or technical administrative coursework including certification material.
Experience directly training teams with hands‑on technical workshops applicable to cloud environments.
Familiar with RedHat cloud‑based technologies including RHOSP, RHOCP, Satellite, etc.
Familiar with scripting languages such as Bash, Python, or Ansible for task automation such as package installation and configuration across an array of hosts.
Familiar with Operating System administration skills for RHEL 7.x.
Familiar with security hardening to include patching, configuration changes, working with SELinux, and troubleshooting while leveraging automation tools.
Strong communication and organizational skills in leading a team and coordinating with program leadership.
Can express yourself confidently, concisely, and accurately through written and oral communications.
Detail/process oriented, can multi‑task, and able to work with minimal supervision.
Desired Qualifications
Familiar with container technologies to include Docker, Podman, or Kubernetes tools.
Experience implementing or familiar with system monitoring tools, to include log aggregation (Splunk) and data gathering (Nagios, Sensu, etc.).
Relevant RedHat certifications.
Compensation Target Salary Range: $135,000 – $216,000. Salary is determined by scope, responsibilities, experience, education, skills, and geographic location.
