THE PRACTICE Oliver Wyman’s Private Equity team in North America is looking to hire consultants to support its rapid growth. The team works with private equity investors throughout the deal transaction lifecycle— from opportunity identification through due diligence and post‑transaction value realization. Oliver Wyman takes a multi‑specialist approach, bringing teams of deep industry and functional expertise, supported by proprietary approaches and a world‑class network. This enables our clients to achieve differentiated results, both on deals and post‑transaction.
We have completed hundreds of engagements for leading private equity firms across North America, Europe, the Middle East, China and Southeast Asia, creating sustainable shareholder value. The Role And Responsibilities We are not typical “management” consultants. We provide industry‑ and discipline‑specific knowledge and expertise, amplifying our impact and shaping the future for our clients. The team looks for experienced professionals already working in or interested in the industrials industry, serving private equity clients.
Clients hire Oliver Wyman for specialized expertise. The ideal candidate will have most of the following:
Professional working experience with commercial due diligence in a management consulting firm.
Experience working in industrials within Private Equity.
Knowledge and in‑depth experience with customer research techniques (interviews, surveys, focus groups, etc.).
Strong background in strategic problem solving with demonstrable analytical skills.
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills in both formal and informal settings.
Fluent in English.
An undergraduate or advanced degree from a strong academic program.
Ability to take the initiative, seeking out opportunities to learn new skills and apply them.
Creativity to come up with novel ideas to solve our clients’ biggest problems.
Aptitude for analytical work, such as extracting insights from large data sets or identifying key issues in complex challenges.
Willingness to work fluidly and respectfully with our talented team.
Engagement Managers Engagement Managers lead projects day to day, executing due diligence and/or post‑transaction engagements for private equity funds and their portfolio companies. They ensure findings are insightful and data‑driven. The role demands strategic thought leadership, command of technical and operational details of execution, and strong communication skills to forge relationships.

Compensation & Benefits The applicable base salary range for this role is $225,000–$240,000. The base pay offered will be determined based on experience, skills, training, location, certifications, and education. In addition to base salary, the position may be eligible for performance‑based incentives. We offer a competitive total rewards package that includes health and welfare benefits, tuition assistance, 401K savings and other retirement programs, and employee assistance programs.
