Position Summary To provide assistance to people receiving services across educational, residential, and community environments. Supports activities of daily living (ADLs) including personal care, promotes choice and independence while maintaining protective oversight, and demonstrates compliance with all Springbrook policies and state regulations.
Primary Duties And Responsibilities
Be a good role model for the people you support in all situations and settings.
Be an advocate for the people you support in all situations and settings.
Be punctual and dependable; regular staff attendance is vital.
In partnership with the people you support, observe, discuss, and help assess their strengths and opportunities to help develop their personal goals and plans.
Support and encourage people as they make choices about their goals and activities and how they want to live.
Perform tasks ranging from intensive personal care needs (e.g., showering, using the restroom) to supervising those tasks, based on level of need.
Help people find meaningful and fun ways to spend their time and make friends outside the Springbrook community, including attendance at spiritual, recreational, or family events.
Follow all written plans, learning materials, and goals.
Collect required data.
Complete required billing documentation for supports and services provided.
Obtain and maintain applicable training, certifications, and knowledge of policies and procedures.
Ensure safe and clean environments, including grounds and vehicles.
Attend team meetings and 1:1 meetings with supervisor.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications, Skills and Knowledge Requirements
High school diploma or GED required; associate's degree preferred.
Experience working with people with developmental disabilities is preferred.
Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including mandatory overtime as necessary, and may be reassigned to other locations based on business needs.
Proficient verbal and written communication skills.
Proficiency with computer software (Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word) and ability to learn additional software.
Must be able to lift 50 lbs. independently and assist in lifting weights exceeding 50 lbs.
Meet requirements to drive Springbrook vehicles as needed.
Valid driver’s license required.
Ability to perform all physical interventions.
