Event Specialist Orientation Programs

Salary: $43,800–$54,900 per year (equivalent hourly $15.45–$21.00).

Overview The Orientation Programs & Event Specialist will provide leadership and professional expertise in the planning and implementation of prospective and new student experience programs, including but not limited to orientation and enrollment and prospective student events. The role works collaboratively with admissions and recruitment staff to plan and execute effective new student programs to achieve enrollment goals.
Responsibilities
Book venue space, order catering, and communicate room set‑up.
Monitor daily data reports and compile event material packets.
Manage office email inboxes and coordinate with internal stakeholders.
Assist in the planning, execution, and management of prospective student‑centered experiences.
Review data reports to facilitate discussions and decisions related to orientation programs.
Ensure high standards and enrollment initiatives are reflected in orientation programming experiences.
Requirements
High School Diploma/GED (conferred on or before start date).
Two years of work experience (post‑secondary education may substitute for experience).
High level of internal and external public contact, serving as a liaison between admissions, various academic units, and other organizations.
Strong written, verbal, interpersonal, and technical skills.
Knowledge of Microsoft applications and experience in planning, execution, and management of prospective student events.
Demonstrated project management, time management, and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple, complex projects.
Computer skills: word processing, spreadsheet software, desktop production, database systems.
Ability to review data reports and facilitate decisions.
Conflict management skills and solution‑focused approach.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Must be able to lift in excess of 45 lbs.
Must be able to conduct campus‑wide tours up to two hours or longer outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Valid Driver's License.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree.
Additional Information
Work schedule may extend beyond regular office hours, including evenings, weekends, and occasional Saturdays; off‑campus travel with overnight stays may be required.
Regular continuous appointment until further notice.
Compensation is hourly, contingent upon available funding.
