Argenta is partnered with a growing construction organization seeking a Construction Sales & Preconstruction Sales expert to drive revenue growth. This role is designed for a commercially aggressive construction sales professional who thrives on opening doors, creating opportunities, and converting early-stage conversations into awarded work.
You will focus on identifying opportunities in Orlando, Florida and Atlanta, Georgia. Leading pursuits, shaping scope and pricing, and partnering closely with company leadership, estimating, project management, and operations. This position is ideal for someone who understands the full construction lifecycle and excels at selling through technical credibility, disciplined planning, and execution confidence. Key Responsibilities
Own responsibility for net‑new client acquisition and first‑time project awards
Proactively source opportunities through direct outreach, networking, industry events, and market intelligence
Lead construction sales efforts across commercial, industrial, infrastructure, and site development projects
Identify, qualify, and pursue opportunities aligned with company capabilities and growth strategy
Own and manage the sales pipeline, forecasting revenue and prioritizing pursuits
Serve as the primary commercial contact during the pursuit and early project phases
Build long‑term client relationships with developers, general contractors, owners, and engineering partners
Travel approximately 50% to support new business pursuits and market development
Project Management & Execution Alignment
Partner with project management and field leadership to ensure strong handoff from sales to execution
Support project planning, scheduling coordination, and resource alignment
Assist in resolving scope, schedule, and budget issues during pre‑award and early project phases
Maintain client engagement through project startup to support delivery and repeat business
Support contract review, negotiation, and commercial terms during pursuit and award phases
Assist in project budgeting, financial planning, and cost alignment
Evaluate commercial risk, margin targets, and contract obligations prior to award
Collaborate with leadership to align sales commitments with operational and financial objectives
Own senior‑level client relationships throughout the full sales and preconstruction lifecycle
Act as a trusted construction advisor, guiding clients through scope, budget, risk, and delivery decisions
Control deal momentum by driving next steps, deadlines, and decision paths throughout the pursuit cycle
Lead executive‑level meetings, pursuit strategy sessions, and critical negotiations
Drive momentum through pre‑bid conferences, jobsite walks, and in‑person client engagements
Represent the company at industry events and within key market circles to generate and advance new opportunities
Maintain a strong field presence, traveling approximately 50% to support high‑value pursuits, client relationships, and deal execution

Construction & Preconstruction Knowledge
Broad construction knowledge across commercial, infrastructure, site, and utility projects
Preconstruction and estimating experience supporting bids and pursuits
Familiarity with HeavyBid and AGTEK preferred
Budgeting, scheduling awareness, and scope definition
Commercial & Project Acumen
Contract management and commercial risk awareness
Understanding of project management and construction execution
Ability to sell complex, long‑cycle construction projects with confidence
Ability to anticipate execution risk early and shape scope, pricing, and delivery strategy to protect margin
Experience aligning commercial commitments with operational realities to ensure projects are both winnable and deliverable
Experience & Background Education
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field preferred
Equivalent construction experience considered in lieu of formal education
Documented track record of closing large construction deals
Preconstruction fluency (budgets, estimating, risk, constructability)
Strong negotiation instincts and executive presence
Experience
5–10+ years of experience in construction sales, preconstruction, estimating, or project management
Demonstrated success selling and delivering construction projects and generating net‑new revenue in construction or infrastructure markets
Track record of opening new accounts and winning first‑time projects
Hands‑on experience with budgeting, scheduling, and contract management
Proven ability to operate in a field‑forward role with approximately 50% travel

In addition to a competitive base salary, the role offers uncapped incentive compensation directly tied to deal wins, project value, and commercial performance. The structure emphasizes new business generation and high‑impact closings, with upside aligned to backlog growth and margin quality.
