Description
At Northfield Park Racino, the Casino Revenue Audit Manager oversees the daily audit and reconciliation of the casino, racetrack, and non-gaming revenue sources to ensure accuracy, integrity, and compliance with internal controls, GAAP, and state gaming regulations. This position supervises the revenue audit team, reviews audit work for completeness and accuracy, identifies and resolves variances, and partners with Cage, Slots, Table Games, Racetrack Operations, Count Room, Finance, Compliance, and IT to maintain proper revenue reporting. The role prepares required revenue summaries, supports internal and external audits, ensures adherence to Internal Control Systems (ICS), and maintains strong documentation and control standards.
Essential Job Functions/Duties
Oversees the daily audit of casino and racetrack revenue including slot, table games, poker, pari-mutuel wagering, racetrack betting terminals, kiosk transactions, cage activity, count room results, promotional activity, and loyalty program redemptions.
Supervises and reviews revenue audit staff to ensure accurate and timely completion of audits and proper documentation of all audit processes.
Conducts daily reconciliation of all racetrack revenue sources, including tote system reporting, mutuel settlements, breakage, commissions, and wager pool distributions.
Ensures all casino and racetrack revenue activity is reconciled to source systems, including slot management systems, table games systems, tote/racetrack systems, cage applications, POS systems, and financial reporting platforms.
Reviews daily, weekly, and monthly revenue journals, reconciliation reports, and supporting documentation for accuracy, completeness, and compliance.
Identifies, researches, and resolves revenue discrepancies, variances, posting errors, and system exceptions in collaboration with operational departments and racetrack leadership.
Ensures adherence to Internal Control Systems (ICS), GAAP, and all applicable state gaming and racing regulations (e.g., OCCC, MGC).
Prepares internal audit schedules, revenue summaries, exception logs, pari-mutuel activity reports, and supporting financial documentation for senior leadership and Finance.
Ensures proper recording of racetrack revenue items such as breakage, exotic pools, refunds, cancellations, and settlements with racetrack partners or regulatory agencies.
Maintains all audit evidence, workpapers, reconciliations, tote reports, and supporting documentation for internal and external audits.
Coordinates with Compliance on variance reporting, control documentation, Title 31 interfaces (as applicable), and regulatory reporting requirements.
Supports internal and external audits including state gaming commissions, state racing commissions, financial auditors, and internal audit teams.
Monitors system performance and partners with IT to ensure accurate reporting and data integrity across casino and racetrack systems.
Recommends procedural improvements to strengthen revenue audit processes, documentation standards, and internal controls for both casino and racetrack operations.
Trains, mentors, and develops revenue audit staff on casino and racetrack audit processes, system functionality, reconciliation methods, and documentation requirements.
Attends meetings with Finance, Cage, Slots, Table Games, Racetrack Operations, Compliance, and executive leaders to present audit findings, trends, and exception reports.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Job Specifications
Five or more years of applicable experience with a minimum of three years of supervisory or managerial experience; Associate degree or higher preferred, or a combination of education and experience.
Strong analytical and quantitative skills with the ability to review detailed financial transactions across multiple systems.
Proficiency with casino systems such as slot management systems, table games systems, cage systems, count room applications, and POS systems for non-gaming outlets.
Advanced Excel and data analysis skills required.
Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills with experience managing audit teams.
High attention to detail, accuracy, and proper documentation.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.
