POSITION OVERVIEW The St. Louis Internship Program’s (SLIP) Training Facilitator conducts and facilitates employability skills sessions for an assigned case load of students engaged in SLIP’s Training & Development Component. Training Facilitators provide instruction on job readiness topics (on how to get a job, keep a job and do well on that job) along with performance based assessments and intervention strategies for student participants.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Programmatic

Assist with the delivery of services among different program activities to increase effectiveness and efficiency

Liaise with other staff to ensure the effective and efficient program delivery

General

Assist with program activities to ensure effective operation within the policies and procedures of the organization

Assist in the achievement of operational objectives by contributing information and recommendations to strategic plans and reviews

Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal and professional networks, and participating in professional organizations

Assist in all capacities as necessary to support the mission of the organization

RESPONSBILITIES

Conduct and facilitate training workshops for high schools students in employability skills while simulating real life job situations

Apply real-life, relevant scenarios to engage student participants in authentic learning experiences

Demonstrates a high level of professionalism in dealing with confidential and sensitive issues

Seek out materials, data and other tools that will enhance the student training to address developmental factors for students

Assist with advising students regarding career selection, job search and internship opportunities

Assist with instructing students on search techniques, resume preparation, interviewing strategies and other employability assets, skills and techniques

Utilize and maintain data for assigned case load of student participants to perform relevant and sound assessments

Assist with the development of forms and records to document program activities

Maintain records on student participants of the program for reporting and statistical purposes according to the confidentiality/privacy policy of the organization

QUALIFICATIONS

Four-year degree in a related field (required); prior experience in youth development

Ability to organize work, meet deadlines and handle multiple details and projects simultaneously

Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills; ability to manage priorities and workflow

Passion, integrity, positive attitude, mission-driven, and self-directed

Excellent written and verbal communications skills

Excellent ability to serve in multiple functional capacities

Ability to think strategically and creatively

Ability to analyze information and provide intervention strategies

Demonstrate a commitment to recognize and respect the many forms of diversity

Excellent organizational skills

Strong interpersonal skills and ability to deal effectively with a diversity of individuals at all organizational levels

Proficient with Microsoft Office

Ability to work independently
