Overview nVent is seeking a dynamic and strategic Surge Protection Sales Manager for North America to lead demand creation and product expertise for the Electrical Connections business. This leadership role is responsible for providing market expertise for driving revenue growth, expanding market share, and delivering exceptional customer value across the United States and Canada for the ERICO Surge Brands.
What You Will Experience In This Position
Develop and drive sales strategy and execution while leading Regional Sales Managers and the Inside Sales team
Conduct market research and planning to identify sales growth opportunities
Understand competitive markets to better position sales and marketing opportunities
Lead high-level relationships with Key Accounts
Drive revenue achievement, customer growth, and conversion through various sales channels
Partner with local representatives (Account Managers, Regional Sales Managers, and Manufacturing Reps)
Engage with the Vertical Growth team and Product Management on key growth markets and product fit
Negotiate and lead high-level contracts for Key Accounts
Manage national, regional, and local rebate programs for end users and contractors
Act as a voice of the customer between the field and support functions; collaborate with various business functions
Lead Surge Strategy across multiple sales organizations
Lead and mentor inside and outside sales teams
Educate and mentor RSMs, agents, and channel sales teams on application- and value-based selling of ERICO Surge Products
Lead on-site surveys and drive opportunities through engineering workshops
Collaborate with Sales Directors and channel partners on training, cost and pricing initiatives, and local marketing
You Have
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or applicable technical electrical sales experience
Experience in surge protection or switchgear sales
5+ years of technical electrical sales experience, selling to contractors, panel shops, and OEMs
Experience leading outside and inside sales teams
Proficiency in CRM platforms (e.g., Salesforce) and sales analytics tools
Strong value‑based selling skills and interpersonal skills to negotiate and guide customers toward nVent solutions
Ability to travel across the United States and Canada (average 50% travel, overnight trips expected)
Physically capable of navigating construction sites and holds a valid driver’s license

Pay Transparency Total target cash range:
Geographic Region A: $114,500.00 - $212,600.00 +
Geographic Region B: $119,200.00 - $221,400.00 +
Geographic Region C: $130,100.00 - $241,500.00 +
Where annual sales performance exceeds goals, the total target cash received may exceed the pay scale maximum reflected below.
All other compensation may include annual incentives.
