About the Role The Outside Sales Representative is responsible for developing and managing relationships with homebuilders, electrical contractors, and designers across the single-family and multifamily construction markets. This role is highly relationship-driven and consultative in nature, supporting customers throughout the project lifecycle—from design and product selection through execution and delivery.
Success in this role requires close collaboration with manufacturer partners as well as internal Purchasing and Operations teams to ensure accurate quoting, timely order fulfillment, and exceptional customer experience.
Experience Required
Outside sales and/or customer relationship experience within the building materials industry required
Lighting and/or electrical experience strongly preferred due to the technical nature of the role
Skills & Attributes
Solutions-oriented with a strong service mindset
Highly organized; able to manage multiple projects simultaneously and follow through to completion
Effective time management and consistent follow-up skills
Comfortable using computer software to generate quotes and enter orders
Willing and able to learn lighting fundamentals and basic lighting design concepts if not already experienced
Compensation model:
100% commission
Expected Earnings:
$50,000 – $100,000+ annually, based on performance
