Behavior Intervention Specialist (Non‑Profit) – Bronx
Full‑time position. Salary: $62,000 – $78,000 per year (depends on licenses, certifications, and experience). Comprehensive benefits package available.
Job Description AHRC NYC seeks a Full‑time Behavior Intervention Specialist (BIS) for their Residential division in the Bronx to provide diagnostic evaluation, testing, and treatment services. The BIS will serve on departmental or inter‑departmental interdisciplinary teams, completing behavior support plans for individuals receiving support from AHRC New York City.
Position Responsibilities
Perform all duties to ensure compliance with relevant regulations, including record keeping.
Conduct pre‑admission evaluations, annual psychological status assessments, and periodic diagnostic testing.
Assist in creating and implementing behavior support plans as part of an interdisciplinary team.
Engage individuals in individual and/or group treatment as needed.
Coordinate psychological care and behavioral programs with families or residential settings and other stakeholders.
Provide crisis intervention and instruct staff in behavior management techniques.
Interpret psychological and behavioral findings to direct care staff and provide in‑service training on behavior modification and physical intervention.
Attend interdisciplinary team meetings, providing input on individuals with identified or emerging behavior management issues.
Maintain timely, accurate service records.
