General Summary The Vince Camuto Brand Leader is responsible for developing the brand DNA and leading the full-cycle vertical brand strategy with ownership and influence of the marketing, e-commerce merchandising, wholesale sales and product development functions for the Vince Camuto flagship brand. Serves as the key strategic partner, influencing marketing, digital, sales and product development functions to achieve budgeted shipping and profitability goals. Leads and designs the strategy to expand distribution of the brand with targeted customers consistent with the pricing and brand DNA. Develops and maintains strong retail partnerships with executives, buyers and negotiates new retail partnerships to expand distribution.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Build and lead strategy for the full-cycle identity of the Vince Camuto brand, up to and including sales strategies (both direct to customer and wholesale), customer identity, design, pricing and marketing to ensure all points are consistent with the DNA of the brand.

Lead and develop team of E-Commerce leaders and act as a strategic business partner to Design, Product Development, Sales and Sourcing teams to drive short and long-term brand and sales strategies for the Vince Camuto Brand.

Develop and maintain relationships with new and existing customers to drive sales and expand retail and e-commerce distribution of the VC brand.

Strategic partner to sales in developing and negotiating new business opportunities with retail and e-commerce customers to increase distribution and sales.

Create short and long-term business strategies through strong statistical analysis, strategic planning and effective communication including forecasting and reporting.

Leverage product development expertise as a strategic collaborator with Design, Product Development and Sourcing teams to ensure quality products that are consistently balanced with brand identity, customer trends and pricing. Develop line plans for the brands to help product team design what customers need to build brand growth.

Clearly understand and drive profitability expectations to maximize sales without margin erosion while building the brand.

Set the vision and strategy across all touchpoints to ensure the Vince Camuto brand and customer experience are always aligned in the overall buying experience in wholesale and retail/direct to consumer channels; ensuring sales, planning and merchandising are effectively managing inventory, product merchandising, and shipping to enable strategic markdowns, balanced promotions and testing based on demand and trend.

Analyze weekly selling reports and react to best and worst sellers with senior leaders. Provide strategic guidance to senior leadership with proper statistical information.

Analyze customer cohorts and define new/profitable customer segments.

Plan and prepare annual cost shipments, travel and support expenses, and profitability budgets. Review monthly reports and ensure fiscal responsibility. Offer strategic action points to insure all annual budgeted goals are met.

Travel to key accounts, shoe shows and business meetings with retail leaders, vendors and executives to negotiate new business as needed.

Actively participate in Market week events to drive appointment bookings and ensure that all product and showroom presentation is on par with brand identity.

Well informed on industry and have a full understanding of competition. Own business and trend communication of their respective brand(s) to senior leadership across Camuto and DBI and leverage this knowledge to build new brand strategies.

Required Skills & Competencies

Outstanding analytic and problem solving skills; specifically in the wholesale sales, product development/design and marketing space.

Knowledge of the use of analytics to drive customer centric decision-making throughout the organization, leading to targeted media & acquisition initiatives that increase customer engagement, brand engagement & spend.

Must have an expert understanding of how to interpret, identify, and define the DNA of a brand from top to bottom and across all channels.

Ability to work well internal groups to gain alignment on key initiatives by engaging and motivating partners and peers.

Experience

Minimum of 10+ years of executive level experience leading and developing a national brand, preferably in the footwear industry

Experience leading a large team of varying background and professional/technical experience

Working knowledge and point of view on design, product development, sourcing and marketing as it relates to product branding, margin and customer trends

Proven success in managing external vendors/partners

Budget/P&L management

Experience in wholesale, retail or in working with retail partners

Preferred Qualifications

5+ years of footwear experience

Education

4-year college degree in marketing or other quantitative discipline

MBA preferred
