GENERAL SUMMARY
Responsible for building Exclusive Brands across all product categories for DSW Inc for their respective brand. Operates as the brand ambassador with extensive customer and product knowledge to develop clear Brand DNA. The Brand Owner works through customer insights, product development, design and marketing to ensure that the brand is prominent in the minds of the consumer and the organization. Leads and supports development during all aspects of product life cycle from concept to design through production to delivery. The Brand Owner is responsible for developing the exclusive brand strategy, promoting brand growth, creating and implementing brand plans, and using a variety of data to drive sales and profitability. The role will focus on achieving brand business objectives in the short / long term and will be primarily responsible for assortment, design, strategy, marketing and will achieve results in partnership with merchandising, marketing, e-commerce, and sourcing/production.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Develops clear brand DNA for assigned brands across all categories; communicates clearly to Design, Marketing, Digital and Buying teams
Builds and owns Long Range Plans for brand growth and defines clear path for execution
Develop and achieve business goals, partnering with the various functional teams to devise creative and strategic solutions to drive growth
Adjusts product development needs based on current brand and national brand selling performance and analytics
Creates Seasonal Category Architecture Roadmap to support brand's strategic objectives in partnership with planning
Analyzes customer insights and trend information and ensure design is consistent with represented brands
Studies domestic and exclusive brand competition internally and externally and adapts assortment or brand marketing accordingly
Researches market trends and patterns competitors to identify trend distortions; recognizes opportunities to drive fashion and maintain value
Leads and manages content for development meetings; sketch, proto review, style review, and handover
Work closely with retail teams to ensure that assortments and styles are placed and merchandised according to strategy; recommend additional product to expand market-share and brand positioning
Influences line building development in partnership with merchandising and sourcing partners to ensure brands are a blend of newness and past success
Works with retail partners to ensure brand messaging is consistent with brand voice
REQUIRED SKILLS
Experience managing and working collaboratively across brands and functions
Experience in driving and delivering projects and strategic brand programs
Experience in providing clear actionable strategic insights with the business
Experience working with key stakeholders, balancing competing interests and needs across the organization to arrive at a clear vision, communicating effectively and aligning various partners along the way
Experience developing a global product strategy that is consistent with the brand values and design aesthetic
Knowledge of product development calendar timelines / deliverables
Action and results oriented: Track record of developing work which is fact-based, focusing on actionable recommendations and outcomes. Proven record of strong follow through
A proven leader with a track record of achieving positive financial results and building best in class teams

8+ years buying/merchandising/strategy experience in Apparel/Footwear/Accessories industries
EDUCATION
Bachelors Degree, Business administration or MBA
