Job Summary The teacher is responsible for providing high-quality instruction in English Language Arts for students in Grades 3–5 while serving as the 4th Grade Homeroom teacher. The role includes integrating Catholic teachings into daily instruction, maintaining a nurturing and structured classroom environment, and supporting the academic, spiritual, and social development of students.
Job Responsibilities Plan and deliver engaging, developmentally appropriate ELA instruction aligned with diocesan, state, and national standards for Grades 3–5
Teach reading, writing, grammar, spelling, and vocabulary using best instructional practices
Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of students
Assess student progress using formative and summative assessments and adjust instruction accordingly
Integrate technology and literacy resources to enhance learning
Homeroom Responsibilities Serve as primary homeroom teacher for 4th grade students
Establish and maintain a positive, respectful, and faith-filled classroom environment
Oversee daily routines including attendance, morning prayer, announcements, and student organization
Support students’ social-emotional growth and promote responsibility and self-discipline
Faith Integration Integrate Catholic values and teachings into the curriculum and classroom activities
Lead students in daily prayer and participate in school liturgies, Masses, and religious activities
Uphold the teachings of the Catholic Church
Communicate regularly and effectively with parents/guardians regarding student progress and classroom expectations
Collaborate with colleagues, administrators, and support staff to enhance student learning
Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and school events
Job Requirements Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field (required)
Valid teaching certification or eligibility per diocesan/state requirements
Experience teaching elementary ELA preferred
Practicing Catholic preferred (or willingness to support and uphold Catholic teachings)
Strong classroom management and communication skills
Skills & Attributes Commitment to Catholic education and faith formation
Ability to create a supportive and engaging learning environment
Strong organizational and instructional skills
Ability to work collaboratively and independently
Professionalism, flexibility, and dedication to student success
Work Schedule Full-time position following the academic school calendar
