The Neighborhood Co‑op (NCM) offers an exciting opportunity for a full‑time development professional who’s looking for meaningful work within a mission‑driven, values‑centered organization. We’re proud of our strong culture and the impact we make in the community, and we pair that purpose with a flexible, hybrid work environment that supports long‑term employee well‑being. With generous vacation time and paid holidays, we believe balance and excellence go hand in hand. The care we show our clients is the same care we extend to our team.

This newly created role offers the right candidate the rare chance to shape and build a strong resource development program. Working closely with the Executive Director and Board of Directors, the Development Director will help chart the course for a comprehensive fundraising strategy that supports the Co‑op’s mission and long‑term growth. We’re looking for someone who brings a deep understanding of end‑to‑end fundraising, thrives in an environment where initiative and follow‑through matters, and approaches opportunities with both creativity and drive. Familiarity with the Atlanta and Gwinnett philanthropic communities is a plus, as this position will play a key role in strengthening relationships and expanding our reach.

Founded in 1988, several churches joined together to form NCM with a mission to provide services to low income and homeless families in our surrounding community which is the SW section of Gwinnett County.

When we first opened our doors in the corner of a small basement in Norcross 1st Baptist Church, we provided food for up to 5 families a day out of a basic food pantry. Since that time, 35+ years ago, the needs in our community have grown dramatically along with our scope of services and scale. Today, we serve close to 40,000 individuals meeting a broader set of needs, typically born out of a family crisis.

Our Mission To help people in crisis by offering programs and services that transform lives through the love of Christ.

Our Focus Serving residents of SW Gwinnett County, GA, providing emergency assistance and support to low‑income, homeless and at‑risk families.

Today, we operate out of our 40,000+ sf operation facility in Norcross, GA with a handful of staff (9) and a lot of volunteers (about 15K hours annually) which houses a much larger food pantry (700 pounds of food distributed in 2025), as well an expansive clothing closet (50K pieces of clothing distributed in 2025); this facility houses our staff and volunteers where we deliver our broader‑integrated services including emergency housing assistance, medical screening and support services, and Life Skills services including job readiness classes, on‑site hiring events, money management courses, ESL classes, Senior Adult support services, health fairs and more. Additionally, we also work closely with local partners to help meet correlated needs including Meals‑on‑Wheels, Fully‑Furnished Ministries, Good Samaritan Health, Rainbow Village and others.
