The AFCENT NOSC – IT Technical Trainer role will train government personnel and contractors on Microsoft, Cisco, Linux OS, LogRhythm, Fedelis, Carbon Black, Trellix, Tenable, and associated hardware such as Sun, Cisco, ODS, and server equipment. Responsibilities include developing lesson plans, managing training facilities, scheduling, and certifying participants.

Responsibilities
Train deploying personnel, write lesson plans, maintain training facility and lab equipment, including setup and teardown for each class.
Maintain web-based scheduling and training materials.
Teach recurring training courses to government personnel and contractors.
Develop training lesson plans and educational materials for two formal courses focusing on enterprise networking, systems, and engineering support for Expeditionary Communication Squadrons (ECSs).
Train approved government, contracted, and deploying personnel on current software and hardware technologies.
Source LAN/WAN, cybersecurity, and emerging technology courses from Air Force and commercial sites; schedule and conduct in‑house networking training.
Conduct class seminars, on‑the‑job training, evaluate, analyze, and document critical work‑center tasks.
Develop work‑center training plans per Air Force standards, instructions, and regulations; track and document employee training progress.
Assess commercial training applicability for integration into the government training plan.
Manage the government‑provided training room/facility and associated lab.
Identify necessary equipment and materials for training objectives and maintain an automated scheduling database.
Develop new curriculum to meet current and future training requirements.
Provide oversight of other training managers, scheduling their work to support approved training requirements.
Develop training plans, aids, and records for IT professionals.
Establish training programs to meet local knowledge and skill requirements and enhance professional awareness of utilized technologies.
Create portable training materials for delivery across classroom, web‑based, and removable media platforms.
Qualifications
B.S. in a related field and 5+ years of relevant experience, or 7+ years of relevant experience.
Experience with firewall and Unix/Linux environments.
Monitor and evaluate cybersecurity safeguards to ensure intended protection levels.
Maintain databases for optimal performance.
Install Microsoft Windows Server in host and compute environments using server images.
Implement storage solutions, high availability, DNS, DHCP, network connectivity, remote access, core and distributed network solutions, and maintain server environments.
Manage Microsoft users, permissions, Active Directory domain services (AD DS) forests, design server infrastructure, troubleshoot, and protect network and data.
Secret clearance required.
Certifications
CCNP
VCTA
Trainer certification (Microsoft, Cisco, or military equivalent)
ITIL Foundation (candidate may acquire within 60 days)
