Clear Lake Bible Church (CLBC), founded in 1969, is a diverse, grace‑oriented, elder‑led, non‑denominational Bible church near the Johnson Space Center in the Houston metro area. With a strong commitment to Scripture, spiritual growth, and church family, CLBC seeks a new Senior Pastor to lead the congregation into a new season of ministry.
Position Summary The Senior Pastor will serve as the spiritual and organizational leader, preaching, teaching, pastoral leadership, and administrative oversight while collaborating with the elder board to further the church’s mission and vision.
Key Responsibilities
Preaching & Teaching
Deliver weekly expository sermons rooted in Scripture.
Lead with a strong commitment to the Word and its authority.
Provide teaching and training to equip the body for growth and discipleship.
Leadership & Vision
Collaborate with the elder board to shape vision and direction.
Cast vision for ministry priorities and initiatives aligned with CLBC’s mission.
Shepherd and mentor ministry leaders and staff.
Pastoral Leadership
Provide spiritual counsel, encouragement, and support to the congregation.
Develop a culture of discipleship, prayer, and grace.
Administration & Oversight
Oversee daily church operations.
Support and coordinate ministry teams and staff.
Ensure effective communication and organizational health.
Outreach & Community Engagement
Foster outreach initiatives to reach the local community.
Encourage and model evangelism and hospitality.
Candidate Profile The ideal candidate will exhibit spiritual maturity, doctrinal integrity, pastoral wisdom, servanthood, and collaboration.
Qualifications
Theological degree from Dallas Theological Seminary or equivalent.
Minimum 10 years of ministry experience, including at least 5 years as a senior or associate pastor.
Strong commitment to Scripture authority and a grace‑oriented theological perspective.
Passion for teaching.
Proven leadership and administration/management skills.
Demonstrated heart for outreach and evangelism.
Agreement with CLBC’s doctrine and constitution.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Benefits
Compensation package: $80,000 - $100,000, commensurate with experience.
Housing allowance, medical benefits, continuing education, salary options, and relocation package available.
