Job Summary

Small Wonders Preschool Assistant‑Substitute at Crystal Lake Education Center (Location: Crystal Lake Education Center). This casual position will serve as a substitute teacher for the assistant teacher, helping plan and implement classroom instruction and maintain a safe, clean learning environment. Hours vary. Assist the program instructor in planning and implementing a program of instruction that aligns with the school’s philosophy, goals and objectives. Help keep the learning environment safe, clean, and conducive to learning. Support the teacher in creating purposeful lesson plans and maximizing time on task. Prepare materials and supplies in advance for activities. Assist with developmental assessments to identify each child’s strengths and areas for improvement. Maintain a confidential assessment binder with developmental assessments, individual goals, and observations of progress. Provide discipline and supervision of children during all activities. Work independently, use mature judgment, and manage children’s behavior positively. Maintain the classroom setting by setting up, cleaning, and storing supplies and equipment. Qualifications

High School Diploma required; preference for candidates with an AA degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field. Additional post‑secondary training relevant to early childhood education preferred. Benefits
