The VISTA will expand Community of Hearts’ Resource Guide distribution across Kent County by building new placement partnerships in all 20 cities and townships. The member will help increase print reach beyond the current 12,500 guides placed in Grand Rapids and work toward a goal of 5,000 guides per city each year. The VISTA will research locations, secure distribution sites, track placement data, and develop outreach systems to grow community access and resource awareness.
Member Duties The VISTA Publication Distribution and Lead Generator will expand Community of Hearts’ Mental Health Resource Guide placements across all 20 Kent County cities and townships. The member will work with volunteers to create a marketing and outreach plan, identify new distribution sites, and build a database to track locations, partners, contact information, and placement numbers. The VISTA will help establish partnerships with businesses, schools, and community organizations to support ongoing guide distribution and awareness. They will engage potential placement sites such as supermarkets, beauty and nail salons, hotels, dealerships, restaurants, colleges, churches, gas stations, travel agencies, and laundromats, ensuring residents in low income communities have greater access to mental health resources. This work will expand community awareness, increase publication reach, and leave behind sustainable systems for future growth.
