Used Equipment Sales Representative
based in Reserve, LA. Join a team dedicated to quality, safety, and customer success.
Key Responsibilities
Proactively identify and generate sales opportunities for used equipment through phone calls, emails, and follow‑ups.
Build and maintain strong relationships with current and prospective customers to understand their equipment needs and offer tailored solutions.
Develop a strong understanding of the various types of used equipment available, including Caterpillar machines, and effectively communicate this knowledge to customers.
Provide accurate pricing, financing options, and product information to customers. Negotiate terms and close sales in a timely manner.
Monitor inventory levels of used equipment, working closely with the sales and service teams to ensure products are available and ready for sale.
Process orders, manage paperwork, and ensure that all transactions are handled efficiently and accurately.
Work closely with the outside sales team, service departments, and management to ensure smooth sales processes and customer satisfaction.
Stay up‑to‑date with market trends and competitor activity to identify sales opportunities and ensure Louisiana Caterpillar remains competitive in the marketplace.
Provide post‑sale support, including coordinating deliveries, assisting with financing, and addressing any customer inquiries or issues.
Qualifications
High school diploma required; bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or related field is a plus.
At least 2 years of inside sales experience, preferably in heavy equipment, construction, or related industries. Experience with used equipment sales is highly preferred.
Strong understanding of heavy machinery and construction equipment, including Caterpillar products. Ability to quickly learn specifications and features of used equipment.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills with a customer‑focused approach to selling. Proven ability to close sales and meet sales targets.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and experience with CRM software (Salesforce). Familiarity with equipment management software is a plus.
Knowledge or experience using CRM (Customer Relations Management) software such as Salesforce.com is highly preferred.
Valid U.S. driver’s license with a clean motor vehicle record and ability to travel within the defined sales territory.

Schedule: Monday – Friday 7:00 am – 5:00 pm.
Ability to travel within defined sales territory and valid U.S. driver’s license with clean Motor Vehicle Record.
