VISTA Housing Navigation Specialist

We serve all veteran and military service members, spouses, and dependents and will serve as a collaboration space connecting them further into the community and/or with other Veteran Service Organizations. This position reports to the Navigation Services Director. The ideal candidate will be a detail oriented, energetic, self-disciplined, and tenacious veteran ambassador with a clear understanding of the needs of veterans and their family members within the community on a cultural, social, and economic level.
The VISTA will have opportunities to develop skills in operations management, leadership experience, project management success, personal accountability, process improvement and interpersonal skills to support the core services the chamber provides to all veterans, their family members and community partners. This position is new and requires the candidate to be agile, flexible, and open-minded to change as we mold and shape the position. This position will require a “building from ground zero” mentality upon assuming roles.
Member Duties
Provide accountability and track tasks developed by project teams
Attend housing steering committee meetings
Lead projects and develop processes for the housing navigation services
Research, identify barriers and create a resource guide to support staff assisting veterans in getting a home loan
Provide oversight and project coordination for the Tiny Homes Project
Develop timelines, schedules, and oversee progress for Tiny Homes Project
Utilize spreadsheets to track budgets, project plans, and other tasks
Develop and launch processes, workflows, and ensure process improvement practices are modeled as the organization builds and grows the housing navigation services
Ability to be flexible as the Chamber builds capacity in the Housing Navigation Services
Knowledge or willing to learn different technology platforms such as Hubspot, Wix, Canva, and Microsoft Project Plans, SharePoint, email, and applications
