Transactional Inside Sales Account Manager
– you will manage a fast-paced portfolio focused primarily on spot inquiries, short‑lead‑time needs, and rapidly changing market conditions. Your role will center on identifying, executing, and coordinating quick‑turn shipments. You’ll collaborate daily with purchasing, operations, logistics, and quality teams to provide a best‑in‑class customer experience.
Duties and Responsibilities
Deliver fast, accurate customer service by responding quickly to purchase orders and requests.
Enter orders accurately and promptly, ensuring all specifications are captured correctly.
Ensure timely delivery of customer orders.
Act as the point of contact for all day‑to‑day transactional needs.
Build and maintain strong relationships with customers who primarily purchase based on market conditions, quick‑turn needs, or just‑in‑time requirements.
Understand customer needs, offer solutions to meet them, and effectively communicate these needs to fulfillment teams (i.e., production, logistics, purchasing, outside processing, etc.).
Monitor key transactional metrics such as quote turnaround time and on‑time delivery.
Prepare reporting for management and outside sales team members.
Review pricing and confirm accuracy.
Qualifications
Preferred bachelor’s degree in business or related field.
2 – 3 years sales or business operations experience.
Excellent verbal and written communication.
High level problem‑solving, attention to detail, and analytical skills.
Customer‑focused mindset.
Ability to work collaboratively in a fast‑paced, high‑volume transactional sales environment.
Proficient in CRM software.
Proficient with Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Word, Excel, and Teams.
Experience with Microsoft D365 Finance and Operations business systems.
Organizational Relationship This individual reports to the Inside Sales Manager and works closely with a variety of departments throughout the company.
Travel & Location Requirements Minimal travel. Based in Grand Rapids, MI.
