Compensation Uncapped Commission, vehicle reimbursement plan, and full benefits.
Job Summary The Salon Business Consultant is a sales solution specialist responsible for an assigned territory of customers. The primary focus is to help grow salons' overall sales by meeting and achieving assigned sales goals through manufacturer education and sales resources. Responsibilities include expanding sales by opening new doors, selling approved beauty products, introducing new products and concepts, and actively using all forms of social media to serve salons, barbers, spas, schools, and licensed beauty professionals.
Primary Duties
Grow the Business:
Identify key accounts within territory and establish efficient routes to grow and develop existing customers while seeking new partnerships.
Assist customers in developing, planning, implementing, monitoring, and tracking results of all in‑salon promotions, programs, and concepts.
Determine customers’ needs and offer products and services to meet those needs.
Communicate all sales initiatives with vendors to achieve corporate sales goals on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
Respond to all email, text, and phone communication promptly (within 24 hours).
Analyze accounts to decide what brand support, education, and promotions are needed to grow within that salon.
Call on customers in person to execute established sales goals.
Strictly comply with established procedures regarding processing of returns, including pickup and documentation.
Work with all business functions (customer service, accounts receivable, IT, etc.) as required.
Prospect for new customers through cold calling, social media, and other digital outlets.
Manage all administrative aspects of the role promptly, including daily order entry and regular maintenance of customer information in Salesforce.com.
Attract and retain salon clientele using social media for communication, promotion, education, and product knowledge.
Conduct effective in‑person and virtual product knowledge classes.
Communicate with the Manager regarding calls, visits, orders, status of sales progress, follow‑up plans, and assistance needed.
Grow Team & Culture:
Act as a subject matter expert on digital platforms & social media; share knowledge with peers.
Attend all meetings, functions, and events, maintaining regular contact as established by the Company or Supervisor.
Be available to attend shows, set up and dismantle displays, handle back stock, and perform other required physical activities.
Support new initiatives with a growth mindset and positively foster change management throughout the team.

Demonstrate a desire to learn and grow; strive for continuous improvement and develop digital & social media techniques to generate new customers and strengthen existing relationships.
Schedule and attend Business Development Days (BDD) to increase product knowledge and vendor relationships.

Remain agile to market changes while building industry knowledge and intuition.
Actively increase own product, industry, and market knowledge.
Create an organized work environment and workflow to efficiently service customers.
Experience & Skills Required
High school diploma or equivalent certification.
Minimum of one year demonstrated outside sales experience or beauty industry experience with an emphasis on consultative selling.
Must live within the assigned territory.
Working knowledge of inventory control systems and visual merchandising strongly preferred.
Excellent knowledge and experience using Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, and other social media platforms to build pipelines and business needs.
Excellent computer skills with knowledge of Salesforce.com, Outlook, PDF Expert, and Oracle. Experience with iPad a plus.
Ability to build an online community and create social connections using search engines and other internet tools.
Requires local travel within the territory and attendance at shows, conventions, and educational events (may include overnight travel and weekend nights).
Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and a safe manner.
Frequent and sometimes prolonged periods of driving are necessary.
Committed to working scheduled hours with flexibility for additional hours based on changing business needs.
Strong time management and organization skills; ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Ability to present a professional business image and interact positively with the public.
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing, at all levels within and outside the organization.
