The Storage Sales Specialist is the primary subject matter expert for Storage and related products. Responsible for driving storage sales in an assigned territory, industry, or accounts. Demonstrates understanding of storage technical solutions and how HPE solutions differ from the competition. Maintains an outside-in view, stays informed on competitors, leverages HPE opportunities, and mitigates challenges. Uses end-to-end data solutions leveraging the HPE storage portfolio and partner ecosystem. Crafts clear storytelling to simplify complex technologies for customers. Hunts for solution opportunities in acquisition and development accounts. Links business and financial benefits with technology, and adopts a services-led approach to build stickiness through consultative engagements and financial constructs. Builds channel relationships, enables key technologies, and co-sells to end users. Responsible for the close plan for storage-related opportunities. Responsibilities
Sell storage products and solutions in the assigned territory, industry, or accounts. Prospect new storage opportunities; discover or cultivate opportunities within existing accounts. Manage, coordinate, and drive sales activities; build pipeline and move opportunities to closure; execute pursuit plans as appropriate. Formulate and expand solutions to generate additional product or service attachments and up-sell to increase revenue. Build sales readiness and reduce client learning curve through effective knowledge transfer in storage. Coordinate supporting sales activities related to pipeline hygiene with account managers, presales, channel partners and other stakeholders. Use internal sales tools to maintain a healthy pipeline and account plan in a timely fashion. Collaborate across HPE teams to deliver a consistent approach to business development, including end-to-end account planning. Negotiate profitable deals to expand opportunities and increase HPE’s footprint and revenue in storage. Establish professional, consultative relationships with clients, engaging up to IT management levels; interface with internal and external experts to anticipate needs and facilitate solutions development. Focus on channel relationships, enablement of key technologies, and co-selling to end users. Coordinate marketing campaigns related to storage to ensure alignment with account strategy and campaign momentum. Support deal closure in partnership with account managers and channel partners. Education And Experience
University or Bachelor's degree preferred. Demonstrated achievement of progressively higher quota, engaging diverse business customers. Typically 6-10+ years of sales experience. Experience in storage sales, typically 2-3+ years. Extensive vertical industry knowledge. Project management experience. Knowledge And Skills
Ability to negotiate profitable deals and expand opportunities in storage. Hunter mentality to pursue solution opportunities in acquisition and development accounts. Ability to articulate technical solutions and commercial benefits to clients. Knowledge to conceptualize and articulate targeted storage solutions from proposal to contract sign-off. Knowledge of digital and modern sales methods. Technology Focus
In-depth knowledge of storage, service, cloud, solutions, and differentiators between offerings and competitors. Understanding of industry trends and competitor/partner solutions; leverage HPE opportunities and mitigate challenges. Use storage knowledge to help customers make IT decisions. Solutions Acumen
Apply storage product/service knowledge with account teams to screen and prioritize leads for feasibility. Partnering acumen and knowledge of how to engage different partners and map the right partner to an opportunity. Leadership
