Structures Mechanic - Backshop - Everett, WA
We are seeking skilled Structures Mechanics to join our team in the repair and overhaul of aircraft assemblies, including cowlings, inlets, leading edges, ailerons, and other components. This role involves working in a large, specialized component MRO building in Everett, WA. You will primarily focus on working with doors and horizontal stab skin panels, replacing skin panels with solid rivets and hilocks, and reworking dents. The position operates on a 2nd shift schedule from 1300 to 2130. Responsibilities Overhaul doors and stab panels delivered to the shop. Drill out and replace hi-loks and other blind fasteners. Trim away metal material using die grinders and DA sanders. Rework dents, occasionally working in a sanding room with a respirator. Utilize drills, bucking bars, rivet guns, socket wrenches, and hi-lok pliers. Ensure high precision when drilling out fasteners to prevent overlarge holes. Maintain the schedule and urgency of in-out production of overhauled units. Essential Skills 4+ years of precision aircraft structures drilling and blind riveting in an MRO environment. Ability to remove rivets, including blind rivets, and drill/ream/countersink/rivet from drawings without close instruction. Must have basic hand tools such as wrenches, hi-lok pliers, socket set, and bucking bars. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience doing skin splice repairs. Experience using skin wedges to separate and/or relocate skin panels. Work Environment The work takes place in a component repair shop within a large MRO setting. There is no in-hangar or on-aircraft work. The schedule is Monday through Friday, or Monday through Thursday, with the first few weeks on the 1st shift. After orientation and training, the shift will move to 2nd shift from 1300 to 2130. Expect to work 40 to 50 hours per week. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Everett, WA.
