POSITION Information Technology Director

JOB DESCRIPTION The IT Director’s principal goals are to plan, coordinate, direct, and design all operational activities of the IT department, as well as provide direction and support for IT solutions that enhance mission-critical business operations. The IT Director works closely with directors and decision makers in the agency to identify, recommend, develop, implement, and support cost-effective technology solutions for all aspects of the organization. This position oversees the Health Information Coordinator, is part of the Senior Management team and reports to the Executive Director.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE

Leads development and implementation processes for the organizations IT systems, HIT infrastructure and department,

Develops and implements business continuity protocols to minimize disruption to business operations in the event of emergency situations or data loss,

Establishes efficiency and efficacy standards, providing recommendations for improvement of IT infrastructure,

Administer, manage, and maintain the Google Workspace ecosystem and/or the agency’s current operating system,

Collaborate with executive management, to evaluate and recommend new Google Workspace features/ enhancements and/or other operating systems the agency is currently utilizing,

Take ownership of the overall Google Workspace account management and/or current operating systems. Develop new system processes and improve existing ones for efficient Workspace account lifecycle management,

Periodically analyze IT help desk tickets, identify recurring issues, create and carry out new solutions, document and train staff appropriately,

Analyzes IT infrastructure and systems performance to assess operating costs, productivity levels, upgrade requirements, and other metrics and needs,

Oversees security of systems, networks, and enterprise information,

Facilitates IT security audits or investigations,

Develops and maintains relationships with external IT vendors and service providers,

Coordinates multisite IT systems,

Assessing an organization’s technology needs and making upgrade recommendations,

Setting short- and long-term IT implementation goals,

Planning and directing new hardware and software deployments,

Protecting sensitive data, systems, and applications from external threats,

Calculating the costs of current and future IT systems,

Provides management and oversight to IT consulting firm,

Remains current in new technologies, anticipates future data application needs,

Performs other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES

Demonstrated advanced organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple assignments and high level project management.

Demonstrated proficiency with report writing tools.

Demonstrated proficiency with PC and PC applications.

Demonstrated experience in troubleshooting software challenges.

Must be highly self-motivated and demonstrate initiative.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 & Google Workspace.

Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Windows 7, 10, and 11 operating systems as it relates to an end user.

Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server 2019, 2016, 2012 R2, 2012, and 2008 R2 operating systems.

Working knowledge of Terminal Services, Active Directory, Group Policy, Folder Redirection, Roaming Profiles, NTFS Permissions.

Working knowledge of networking devices such as routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.

Working knowledge of networking protocols such as TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, SMTP, IMAP, POP3, SSH.

Working knowledge of remote access technologies such as Remote Desktop, TeamViewer, etc

Working knowledge of Enterprise Level email systems such as Google Workspace, Office 365 and Microsoft Exchange.

Working knowledge of Apple and Android mobile devices.

Working knowledge of cloud platforms; Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, Microsoft Azure.

Knowledge of programming or scripting language(s) a plus

Knowledge of MySQL and MSSQL database administration is a plus.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems or closely related field required with a minimum of four (4) years of related experience required.

QUALIFICATIONS OR

Master’s in Health Information Management, Information Technology, or Business Administration, Data/Statistics or a closely related field preferred with a minimum of four (4) years of related experience required.
