Hiring Immediately! The housing specialist works with other team members to determine program eligibility, support applicant's successful completion of applications, complete the lease-up or recertification process, explain complex program requirements so they can be understood by clientele, and perform other duties required to administer the various housing programs. To provide decent, safe and sanitary housing to elderly, disabled, and economically disadvantaged families unable to obtain housing through conventional means. Housing Specialist Details: Temp-to-Hire position $ 20.00 / hour Full Time work available First Shift (Monday through Friday from 08:00am to 05:00pm) Read, understand, and consistently comply with program regulations, policies, and procedures Consistently work to achieve organizational objectives Consistently work to achieve full utilization of federal resources to house clientele Establish and maintain productive work relationships with community-based organizations, staff, landlords, and the general public Send correspondence to program participants and landlords Schedule appointments and conduct meetings Accurately and completely maintain caseload files Other duties assigned Housing Specialist Qualifications: Knowledge of HUD Section 8 and Public Housing Regulations preferred Comply with regulations and policies and apply them to real-life situations Consistently pay attention to details while achieving agency objectives Communicate concisely and effectively in writing and verbally Manage time, organize and prioritize work in a fast-paced work environment Accurately perform basic math calculations Efficiently operate computers and software programs Consistently strive for excellent performance Works to develop additional job and technical knowledge Applicant may be subject to a background check Pre-employment drug screen is required as a condition of employment *A conviction record will not necessarily prevent you from being employed.
