Position Summary We are hiring an experienced Fire Sprinkler Technician II to perform inspections, testing, maintenance, and repairs on fire sprinkler systems in commercial, industrial, and residential facilities. This role ensures all systems remain fully operational, compliant with applicable safety codes, and ready to respond in an emergency.

This position interacts directly with clients, building owners, and internal project teams, requiring strong communication, technical troubleshooting skills, and professionalism. Technicians should be comfortable working independently, managing multiple assignments, and navigating a variety of environments and system types.

Key Responsibilities Inspection & Testing

Conduct routine inspections and functional testing of fire sprinkler systems and components.

Use appropriate tools/equipment to verify operational performance.

Identify faulty components, wiring issues, pressure abnormalities, or system malfunctions.

Perform visual compliance inspections based on NFPA, state, and local codes.

Maintenance & Repair

Complete scheduled preventive maintenance, including cleaning, adjustments, and calibration.

Replace defective or outdated components (heads, valves, gauges, pipes, etc.).

Respond to urgent repair requests and diagnose system failures quickly and accurately.

Maintain detailed logs of maintenance, inspections, deficiencies, and repairs.

Compliance & Documentation

Ensure all work meets applicable fire safety codes and regulatory standards.

Maintain accurate, complete documentation for audits, compliance reviews, and client reporting.

Prepare inspection reports and support submittals to relevant authorities when required.

Stay informed on evolving system technologies and fire protection standards.

Client Support & Communication

Communicate inspection results, repair recommendations, and system status clearly to clients.

Provide basic training to clients on system functionality and maintenance best practices.

Address service inquiries promptly and maintain a high level of customer satisfaction.

Team Collaboration

Work with other technicians to coordinate inspections, repairs, and system upgrades.

Support installation and commissioning of new fire sprinkler systems as needed.

Participate in ongoing training to stay current on industry best practices and new technology.

Tools & Software

MS Office Suite

SharePoint

Basic understanding of fire alarm/sprinkler programming interfaces

Bluebeam (preferred)

Minimum Qualifications

High School Diploma/GED required

5+ years of experience in fire protection, sprinkler inspection, or related trade

NICET II in Water-Based Systems Inspection & Testing (or ability to obtain within 90 days)

NICET III highly preferred

Must be able to pass a background check and random drug screening

Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record

Ability to work overtime and travel to various job sites as needed

Strong troubleshooting skills, including use of manuals and online resources

Knowledge of NFPA 25, OSHA requirements, and fire protection system standards

Physical Requirements

Lift 100 lbs independently; 60 lbs for extended durations

Move a 12-foot ladder unassisted

Work at heights up to 60 ft on ladders, lifts, scaffolding

Ability to walk, climb, squat, kneel, push, pull, and reach overhead regularly

Ability to see in color, hear clearly, and communicate in English

Ability to recognize problems early and apply logical problem-solving techniques
