Die Maker
We are seeking a skilled Die Maker to support the build, repair, and maintenance of metal-forming dies used in a high-precision manufacturing environment. This role is ideal for a hands-on problem solver with strong machining skills, excellent blueprint interpretation, and an ability to work independently in a fast-paced tool room. Key responsibilities include: Interpret blueprints, die models, and product prototypes to plan machining and assembly operations. Set up and operate tool room equipmentincluding lathes, mills, grinders, and other precision machineryto produce components to tight tolerances. Measure, mark, scribe, and machine die components; verify accuracy using micrometers, gage blocks, dial indicators, and other precision tools. Fit, assemble, and align die components; perform hand-finishing using files, stones, and grinders. Conduct die tryouts, final adjustments, and inspections to ensure readiness for production. Troubleshoot die performance issues and execute repairs or improvements as needed. Collaborate with engineering, production, and quality teams to support manufacturing needs. Perform additional tasks as assigned by the Supervisor. Requirements include: Essential: 12 years of die making or die repair experience High school diploma or equivalent Strong blueprint reading ability Proficiency with tool room machinery and ID/OD grinding Solid shop math skills (geometry, algebra, trigonometry) Experience in a manufacturing environment Preferred: CAD skills GD&T knowledge ISO 9000 familiarity Mechanical drafting Engineering problem-solving background Basic tooling design experience Compensation & benefits include: Starting rate:
