We are looking for an experienced, energized and engaged individual with a “work hard/play hard” mindset and exceptional communication skills to join our firm as a Tax Manager. The ideal person has an Ethos-first, positive and inclusive mentality that can translate into quality work and superior client service. This role works closely with EVERY member of the Ethos team, so interpersonal and relationship building skills are of the utmost importance.
Qualifications:
5-7 years of experience in public accounting completing the following:
Tax return preparation (1040, 1120C, 1120S, 1065, 990 & 1041)
Preparation of Financial Statements
Client interactions including tax projections, meetings & communications
Active CPA or EA certification
Well-rounded implementation of accounting concepts
Knowledgeable in QuickBooks, Microsoft Office and Excel
Highly effective verbal and written communication skills that increase tax knowledge for both our team and our clients
Experience in managing workloads, priority shifts, timelines and client requests
Enjoy working in a team environment
Responsibilities:
Tax return preparation (individual, S Corp, C Corp, Partnership, Non-Profit & Trust)
Direct communication with federal, state and local tax agencies
Manage the completion of all tax returns with the following:
Coordinate the division of work to utilize each team member’s skills and experience
Oversee the team’s status of completion and assist in finalizing returns
Ensure all tax returns are completed, accepted or extended prior to deadlines
Manage tax extensions to ensure timely completion
Utilize software, systems and processes to provide accurate reports and tax returns within the necessary timeframe
Accounting services using QuickBooks to complete bank reconciliations, adjusting journal entries, and financial statements
Build relationships with clients through knowledge sharing, dependability and communication skills
Ensure various components of the tax process are completed – including tax projections, tax returns and special projects
Identify areas that would benefit our clients’ financial growth
Diversify your experience by working with a vast array of industries: healthcare, technology, restaurants, construction, real estate, and non-profit organizations
Assist Ethos in building and expanding the accounting team
