Job Overview The Outside Sales Representative (OSR) is primarily responsible for calling on independent stores in the Upland area to sell Ken's and Campbell's products, present new items, secure orders, and support promotional and merchandising activities. The OSR follows monthly priorities set by business managers and coordinates store events such as anniversary sales, demos, new store openings, and remodel expansions.
Responsibilities
Visit the assigned stores in the territory on a monthly basis.
Present new items to store buyers and secure orders.
Present promotional activities and secure off-shelf displays when possible.
Ensure existing items are carried and fully displayed.
Assist with merchandising needs and special projects including demos, remodels, and new store openings.
Maintain current knowledge of products and new items.
Report issues with stores, competitive activity, and market trends.
Maintain full distribution and display of products in assigned accounts.
Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned.
Education Requirements
High School Diploma or GED.
Work Experience and Skills
Five or more years of experience in Consumer-Packaged Goods (CPG) and/or retail.
Comprehensive understanding of the marketplace and customer service.
Experience presenting products and display opportunities to store/market personnel.
Strong relationship‑building skills with store decision makers.
Ability to set and meet monthly sales quotas.
Collaborative approach with clients and customers.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook) and web‑based applications.
Excellent presentation and communication skills.
Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and current product knowledge.
Valid driver’s license and ability to drive long distances.
Availability for occasional overnight travel.
Physical ability to walk, stoop, kneel, reach, pull, grasp, and stand for long periods of time.
