My client is a top notch HVAC and Plumbing Commercial Contractor who is actively seeking an Estimator! The successful Estimator will provide technical support to the sales team throughout the preconstruction/pre sales process including job walks, budgeting, estimating, project schedule preparation, value added analysis and regulatory compliance for all types of construction delivery methods involving Mechanical Contracting to include Plumbing, HVAC and Sheet Metal.
Responsibilities
Prepare take‑offs, schedules, and price estimates.
Obtain scopes of work and pricing from subcontractors and suppliers.
Review vendor equipment submittals for accuracy and quality of products.
Prepare accurate replacement equipment list, sheet metal, plumbing and labor estimates.
Review plans and specifications and provide value engineering for Mechanical Systems.
Compile thorough and detailed lists of qualifications, clarifications, and exclusions to effectively communicate budget assumptions to the client.
Understand and contribute to risk and contingency assessments. Ensure quality while submitting comprehensive alternative solutions for the client.
Develop bid strategies and close mechanical estimates.
Schedule and run turnover conference promptly upon award.
Prepare project construction schedules, cost breakdowns, cash flow analysis, and other computer‑generated project management tools.
Review plans and construction means/methods with the Division Manager to keep the project within defined budgets and schedules.
Prepare a procurement plan for buying out vendors and subcontractors.
Review vendor/subcontractor submittals to ensure adherence to project specifications and requirements.
Control field labor on projects to ensure adherence to labor budgets and project milestones.
Knowledge of commercial and industrial projects a plus!
