WIN Waste Innovations is looking for a Maintenance Mechanic to install, troubleshoot, clean, inspect, and maintain mechanical equipment throughout the facility in a safe and professional manner. The role includes issuing and completing work orders, documenting critical information, and responding to off‑hour emergency repairs. The mechanic will also operate various mobile equipment such as industrial forklifts, manlifts, skid‑steer loaders, and other machinery.
Responsibilities
Initiate and complete work orders and requisitions, documenting all critical and pertinent information.
Use the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) software (Tabware) proficiently.
Work scheduled and unscheduled overtime as required.
Respond to and report on emergency repairs during off hours; be available on call.
Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment.
Operate mobile equipment including industrial forklifts, manlifts, skid‑steer loaders, and other mobile machinery.
Perform preventive maintenance activities and routine repairs around facility grounds.
Identify and repair safety hazards.
Don necessary PPE and safely work at heights, in confined spaces, and other precarious locations.
Communicate effectively by radio using three‑part communication.
Support operations functions such as internal equipment inspections, fire watch, and work area cleaning.
Operate machine‑shop equipment such as bandsaw, drill press, Bridgeport, stationary grinder, and parts washer.
Apply welding practices including SMAW, GTAW, GMAW, brazing, and soldering.
Maintain a positive work environment through respectful communication.
Use hand tools and portable power tools safely and effectively on a routine basis.
Operate equipment typical of a waste‑to‑energy facility, including chain conveyors, belt conveyors, hydraulic and pneumatic equipment, overhead cranes, and various pumps.
Work rotating shifts if requested.
Communicate clearly in writing and verbally, using in‑situ intercom, two‑way radio, or face‑to‑face.
Follow standard safety and environmental procedures, including lockout/tagout and job hazard analysis.
Comply with company environmental, health and safety policies and procedures.
Complete all required Environmental Management System and compliance training.
Complete corporate and plant training programs within prescribed timelines.
Preferred Requirements
High School diploma or GED.
Technical schooling experience.
3–5 years of mechanical background, preferably in construction or similar environments.
Proficiency with oxy‑acetylene and plasma torches.
Precise measurement reading and recording skills.
Qualification in structural welding per D1.1, or demonstrated interest in obtaining certification.
Certificates and Licenses
Licenses required by local, state, federal, environmental, and health/safety regulatory agencies.
Work Environment Noise level in work environment.
Physical Demand
Stand, sit for prolonged periods, and walk.
Handle tools, equipment, and fine motor tasks.
Reach with hands and arms.
Climb and walk on heights greater than 4 ft.
Stoop, kneel, bend, push, pull, and crawl.

Lift up to 50 lb.
Move around plant areas, including catwalks, deck grating, and uneven surfaces.
Operate a 1.5‑inch fire hose at 125 psi and use fire extinguishing equipment up to 200 lb.
Access confined spaces and pressure vessels via 12″ × 16″ manways.
