RCIS Crop Claims Field Adjuster I (Job ID 129308)
Zurich is looking for an RCIS Crop Claims Field Adjuster I to work out of Michigan. The position is home‑based with a 40‑hour work week and approximately 50% travel expected to cover the territory. Ideal candidate lives within a 50‑to‑100‑mile radius of Clinton, Gratiot, Ionia, and/or Isabella counties.
Responsibilities
With minimal supervision, completes field inspections and related responsibilities such as reading maps and aerial photos, measuring fields, storage bins, and discussing findings of crop loss with farmers on complex, non‑routine, problematic claims, including controversial claims.
Conveys complex regulations and interpretations to claimants, agents, and industry people regarding claim situations.
Performs fact finding regarding crop damage, records information, and transmits loss information to accurately determine potential indemnities.
Gathers relevant facts, utilizing applicable law and establishing basic principles of negligence.
Completes claim reviews and audits on lower‑level adjusters as assigned.
Ensures legal compliance by maintaining a strong working knowledge of regulatory and company policies and procedures.
Contributes to the team effort by accomplishing related results and participating in projects as needed.
Basic Qualifications
High School Diploma or Equivalent plus 6 or more months of experience in the agricultural area.
Crop Adjuster Proficiency Program Certification (CAPP) must be obtained within 180 days of hire date.
Reliable personal transportation and ability to travel within the territory.
Valid Driver’s License.
Physical requirements: walk in agricultural fields up to 3 miles, climb agricultural storage bins up to 25 feet, lift 25‑50 lbs, work outdoors in varying temperatures/weather conditions.
Preferred Qualifications
Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
Strong organization and prioritization skills.
Experience as a Crop Claims Field Adjuster.
Intermediate Microsoft Office skills.
Pay & Benefits The salary range for this position is $22.02 ‑ $30.24 per hour, plus a short‑term incentive bonus of 5%. You may be eligible for additional bonuses and merit increases. We offer competitive pay and comprehensive benefits for employees and their families.
