Hydraulics EIT/Designer – Responsibilities
Demonstrate an ability to work under the direction of multiple project engineers to apply various design, engineering and modeling techniques in the development of transportation and water resource projects for local municipalities, state and federal clients.
Work independently on small projects, or assist more senior engineers on larger projects.
Conduct site studies, prepare site designs, contract documentation and graphic presentation; prepare civil design drawings with BIM/CAD platforms for construction documents.
Perform hydrologic and hydraulic evaluations and calculations.
Prepare drainage maps.
Conduct stormwater management facility design calculations and modeling.
Prepare construction/contract plans, specifications, and cost estimates.
Perform flooding compliance investigations.
Assist with writing reports and technical memos.
Provide drainage design permitting support.
Conduct water quality assessments and calculations.
Evaluate floodplain impacts and compensation calculations.
Perform bridge hydraulic and scour evaluations and calculations.
Prepare cost opinions and write technical documents.
Support construction phase implementation of infrastructure.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Environmental, Transportation, Structural Engineering, or a relevant field.
Engineer in Training (EIT) certificate.
Candidates hired without their EIT will have the title of "Coordinator" and will be expected to obtain their EIT for career progression.
Relevant experience performing drainage design for highway/roadway projects, preparing plans and specifications, and permitting.
Proficiency in MicroStation/AutoCAD; experience with Civil 3D, StormCAD, Open Roads Designer preferred.
Preference given to local candidates.
