Hydraulics EIT/Coordinator – HDR

As part of HDR’s Transportation Business Group, you will help shape systems that move people and goods safely, efficiently, and sustainably. Your work will directly support economic vitality, public safety, sustainable and resilient communities, and the quality of life.
Responsibilities
Work under the direction of multiple project engineers to apply design, engineering, and modeling techniques for transportation and water resource projects for local municipalities, states, and federal clients. Independently manage small projects or assist senior engineers on larger projects. Conduct site studies, designs, contract documentation preparation, and graphic presentations. Prepare civil design drawings with BIM/CADD platforms for construction documents. Perform hydrologic and hydraulic evaluations and calculations. Prepare drainage maps and stormwater management facility design calculations and modeling. Develop construction/contract plans, specifications, and cost estimates. Investigate flooding complaints and support drainage design permitting. Write reports and technical memos, water quality assessments and calculations, floodplain impacts and compensation calculations, bridge hydraulic and scour evaluations and calculations, and cost opinions. Support construction phase implementation of infrastructure. Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Environmental, Transportation, Structural Engineering, or a related field. Engineer in Training (EIT) certificate. Candidates hired without an EIT will be titled "Coordinator" and are expected to obtain their EIT for career progression. Relevant experience performing drainage design for highway/roadway projects, preparing plans and specifications, and permitting. Proficiency with MicroStation/AutoCAD required; experience with Civil3D, StormCAD, Open Roads Designer preferred. Preference given to local candidates. Required Qualifications
