Floor Technician/Custodian – CW Resources, Inc.

Responsibilities
Clean and care for a variety of floor surfaces—tile, vinyl, carpet, and concrete—using the appropriate methods for each, including sweeping, mopping, and scheduled deep cleaning.
Operate floor care machines such as buffers, auto‑scrubbers, carpet extractors, burnishers, and vacuums for daily and project‑based tasks.
Perform advanced floor care services like stripping old wax or finish, applying new coatings, buffing for shine, and deep‑cleaning carpets using hot water extraction or bonnet methods.
Follow safety guidelines when working with cleaning chemicals and equipment, and always wear the proper personal protective gear (PPE).
Use all equipment safely and ensure it is cleaned, stored properly, and in good working order.
Follow OSHA and facility safety standards to help keep yourself and others safe.
Work independently or with a team to complete daily floor care duties and larger cleaning projects.
Keep in touch with your supervisor about any equipment issues, supply needs, or floor damage that requires attention.
Help maintain a clean, safe, and professional space by keeping floors free of spills, dirt, and slip hazards.
Day in the Life
Start your shift by reviewing your schedule and gathering supplies and equipment for the day’s tasks.
Walk through assigned areas to check floor conditions and plan your work.
Sweep, mop, or vacuum floors to prep for deeper cleaning.
Use machines like buffers, scrubbers, and extractors to clean and polish floors.
Strip and wax floors or deep‑clean carpets, depending on the surface and schedule.
Monitor equipment performance and clean or refill machines as needed.
Stay alert for spills, hazards, or damage and take action to fix or report them.
Wrap up by cleaning your equipment, storing supplies, and logging completed work.
Qualifications
Minimum of 1 year of custodian/janitorial experience.
Strong attention to detail—takes pride in clean, polished results.
Good time management—can stay on task and meet deadlines.
Self‑motivated—able to work independently with minimal supervision.
