Position Information As a Parts Advisor you will be responsible for selling retail parts to customers, over the counter, through the shop or on the phone. You would assist walk-in customers by selecting required parts, suggesting companion requirements, and offering any specials. Some of our parts advisors work directly with our service technicians in selecting parts needed for repairs. All our parts advisors are expected to be friendly, professional, and efficient offering the highest level of service to our customers.
This position reports to the Parts Manager, is a 40 hour a week position and is eligible for overtime. This position also qualifies for a monthly bonus incentive based on your individual gross profit.
Qualifications To qualify for our Parts Advisor position, you must have a high school diploma or equivalent. You must be able to read and comprehend instructions and information. Dressing professionally and being able to communicate well orally and in writing with customers, vendors, and other contacts is a must. One year of sales experience is required. One year of experience at a dealership or automotive parts department is preferred.
Physical Demands The Parts Advisor position is a physically demanding position. You will move throughout the parts shelves throughout your shift, reaching and climbing to obtain parts from inventory. You will stand six to eight hours at a customer counter. If delivering parts to the service department and body shop, you will be exposed to noise, vibration, dust, exhaust fumes, and other hazardous and non-hazardous materials.
