Bulk Sales Specialist
– Airgas Location: Long Island City, NY; Bronx, NY – Retail shop Overview
Airgas is hiring a Bulk Sales Specialist to maintain and grow business relationships with customers that purchase bulk gases, equipment, and safety supplies. The role requires over five years of outside sales experience in an industrial setting. Responsibilities
Call on customers within the assigned sales territory to maintain business, increase sales, and enhance the company’s competitive position in bulk gas sales. Identify and qualify prospective customers, providing updates to management and tracking progress in the Target Account Planning and Tracking System. Develop and execute region‑specific sales and marketing plans, including securing product supply agreements. Review regional sales goals and gross profit margins, monitor effectiveness of sales and marketing efforts, and report monthly to sales and product management. Serve as a technical resource for customers and regional retail associates on bulk gases. Maintain clear communication with internal departments regarding customer successes, failures, new developments, and other customer‑specific information. Work closely with local branch managers to promote sales and customer management through retail store locations. Travel throughout the assigned territory to call on regular and prospective customers. Provide appropriate recommendations to close sales opportunities and meet sales targets. Research and analyze market data to identify new customers, sales volume potential, and pricing strategies. Perform other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications
High School Diploma; Bachelor’s degree preferred. Minimum 5 years of outside sales experience. Valid driver’s license and personal vehicle with insurance. Ability to multi‑task in a high‑volume setting. Strong analytical, verbal and written communication skills. Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of industrial gases, welding supply, and hardware. Proven change‑management skills, including building sponsorship, communications, and stakeholder management. Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, SAP, and related applications. Professional presence and demeanor reflective of a corporate environment. High energy, self‑starter, and strong customer‑service and relationship orientation. Benefits
