R-94076**Upper Valley Disposal**, a Waste Connections company, is now looking for a *safety conscience*
**Diesel Mechanic** to join the team at our location in **St. Helena, CA**!The schedule will be **Monday-Friday** **7am-3:30pm.** Schedule is subject to change seasonally as needed.**The pay range for this job category is $34-36 per hour, depending on experience.** We also offer great family benefits, a 401k, paid vacation, etc.Responsibilities Include:* Inspects and repairs vehicles with diesel engines* Handles routine repairs, including oil and tire changes along with minor and major repairs from brakes, A/C, hydraulics, electrical, welding, engine replacement, transmissions, etc.* Interprets diagnostic test results accurately* Writes detailed inspection reports and repair plans in our system* Collaborates with other diesel mechanics* Completes test drives to make sure the vehicle runs correctly* Uses power, machine, and hand tools safely* Communicate with drivers for issues in morning and afternoon* Reviews, completes or assigns repairs identified on Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports* Maintains a clean, safe work area in compliance with corporate and OSHA standards* Follows all Waste Connections repair shop regulations and standardsQualified candidate must have:* 5+ years of experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.* Tool set, tool box and proper personal safety equipment required* Basic computer skills and ability to learn test diagnostic laptop and software* Class B CDL preferred, ability to obtain one is required* Clean driving record* Welding experience a plus* Minimum of a High School diploma or GED**To be considered for any of our current openings you must complete an application at** .
