* TVMDL is considered an essential component of the Texas A&M University System (TAMUS) and remains operational for several “open holidays” in which overtime or compensatory time may be earned.* All veterinarians employed at TVMDL are required to obtain either a full license or a special license from the Texas Board of Veterinary Medical Examiners (TBVME).* TVMDL employees are eligible for the Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) Program administered by the US Department of Education.* Occasional in-state travel is required. Operates assigned equipment in a safe manner and in adherence to all TAMUS, AgriLife, and TVMDL policies as well as local, state, and federal laws.* Bachelors in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience.* Ten years of related experience.* Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) and advanced degree (e.g. M.S., PhD, etc.) in relevant field of study.* With advanced degree - five or more years of veterinary diagnostic laboratory experience or other relevant veterinary work experience and at least five years of experience directing/supervising personnel.* Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.* Strong verbal and written communication skills.* Ability to communicate clearly and effectively to ensure understanding.* Understanding of basic functions and daily operations of a veterinary diagnostic laboratory.* Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications.
