Job Summary The

Digital Proofreader

ensures that all printed material produced is grammatically correct, structurally sound and logical, and that the intended meaning is clear.

Ministry Requirements

Maintains a personal, active relationship with Jesus Christ and is a consistent witness for Jesus Christ

Faithfully upholds BGEA in prayer

Participates in daily BGEA staff devotions including Bible reading, and leading group prayer as schedule permits

Demonstrates behavior aligned with BGEA’s Mission Statement, Statement of Faith, Hallmarks, policies, and expectations

Effectively represents Jesus Christ to those within both personal and professional spheres of influence

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Proofreads original material checking for proper grammar, structure, BGEA style, punctuation, accuracy, logic, and copyright of each piece

Proofs material consists of web stories, emails, landing pages, streaming pages, event websites and more, double‑checking links.

Contributes to the printed proofing projects at BGEA, checking for proper layout, with no missing elements, proper color break, correct fold, pages in right order, spots, and blemishes

Looks at materials on both desktop and phone for user experience quality control.

Marginal Duties and Responsibilities

Recommends editorial copy changes

Other duties as assigned

Job Specifications Skills and Knowledge

Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, or related field preferred, or equivalent related experience

Good command of the English language, including spelling, grammar, punctuation

Experience with or capacity to effectively utilize digital workflow software and Microsoft Office

Good general knowledge of the Bible

Copy editing experience a plus

Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to minute details

Ability to communicate verbally and in written for and with staff of all levels of the association

Ability to relate to people well, be approachable and manage administrative tasks simultaneously

Physical/Mental Demands

Ability to prioritize work and manage multiple projects in a high‑paced environment

Ability to concentrate despite distractions

Ability to work under stress and deadline requirements

Demonstrated flexibility to adapt to changing job parameters, deadlines, or directions

Ability to work independently and as part of a team while demonstrating flexibility when priorities change

Working Conditions

Work is typically performed in a conventional office environment

Work can involve working beyond standard hours and without prior notice, if necessary
