Petco Grooming Salon Leader
Lead salon operations and a team of groomers while delivering expert grooming services to pet parents and their pets.
Job Summary As a Grooming Salon Leader, you will manage salon operations, coach and develop groomers, drive customer satisfaction, and perform high‑level grooming services.
Responsibilities
Oversee day‑to‑day salon operations, optimize staffing, scheduling, and grooming capacity.
Recruit, hire, train, and supervise a grooming team from entry level to professional groomers.
Develop and coach groomers, provide feedback, performance evaluations, and foster a positive work environment.
Analyze salon performance metrics, identify improvement areas, and develop action plans.
Collaborate with store management to achieve sales targets and salon objectives, driving growth and profitability.
Interact professionally with pet parents, provide exceptional customer service, and resolve grooming inquiries.
Perform professional grooming services (bathing, drying, brushing, cutting, styling, nail trimming, ear cleaning, gland cleaning) following company policies.
Maintain a clean, safe salon environment and perform daily cleaning duties.
Stay current on grooming industry trends and best practices, sharing knowledge with the team.
Qualifications
2+ years’ experience as a professional groomer and completion of a technical grooming training program.
1–2 years’ salon management experience (preferred).
High‑school diploma or GED (preferred).
Strong leadership, coaching, and decision‑making skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Expert knowledge of dog breeds, grooming standards, and common health issues.
Ability to handle pets of all sizes and temperaments with empathy.
Full‑time availability (minimum 35 hours per week, including weekends and holidays).
