Description of Work The Assistant Director of Global Experiences Office serves as an assistant to the Director, supporting policy development, student experience evaluation, and strategic coordination of programs abroad. The role also focuses on marketing and outreach on campus, supporting College of Architecture faculty‑led programs, and acting as the principal Coordinator for all bilateral exchange programs. The Assistant Director reviews office policies, coordinates outreach activities such as the annual GEO Fair, and develops relationships with bilateral exchange program partners. Some nights and weekends may be required; occasional domestic and international travel is also required.
Responsibilities
Review and update policies and procedures of the Global Experiences Office.
Coordinate outreach activities for students and campus partners, including the annual GEO Fair.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with bilateral exchange program partners.
Support College of Architecture in implementing faculty‑led programs.
Assist the Director in strategic development and coordination of study abroad programs.
Manage marketing and outreach initiatives related to global experiences.
Minimum Required Qualifications
Master’s degree plus two (2) years of experience in a study abroad office, student affairs office, international education organization, or non‑profit focused on global learning.
Experience supporting students or advising students.
Experience studying, living, working or volunteering abroad.
Experience in marketing, event planning, or outreach in some capacity.
Proficiency in Microsoft products, including Excel.
Evidence of attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience developing and administering short‑term study abroad programs strongly preferred.
Experience administering budgets and contracts.
Experience working within different student‑based operating systems.
Commitment to diverse pathways for learning and demonstrated support for students of all backgrounds.
Knowledge of theory and practice in student development, experiential learning, curriculum design, and intercultural communication.
