Public Outreach Specialist Company: AZH Consulting Corp Location: Brooklyn & Queens, NY (Field-Based) Type: Full-Time, Contract Pay Range: $25 – $30/hour Position Overview: Public Outreach Specialists are the front-line representatives of the Lead Service Line Replacement Program. They engage directly with homeowners to inform, educate, and assist residents with program participation. Key Responsibilities Conduct door-to-door outreach in assigned neighborhoods (always in teams of two or more) Educate homeowners about lead service line replacement, benefits, and procedures Assist residents with enrollment, consent forms, and Right-of-Entry documentation Respond to program-related phone calls and emails Attend tabling events, community meetings, and outreach events Maintain accurate records of homeowner interactions and outcomes Enter outreach data and notes into DEP systems (LeadCAST) Coordinate follow-ups for inspections, scheduling, and replacements Interact professionally and respectfully with diverse, multilingual communities Qualifications High School Diploma required Minimum 3 years of experience in community outreach, public engagement, or customer service Comfortable with field-based work and resident interaction Strong interpersonal and communication skills Multilingual skills (Spanish, Mandarin, Bengali, etc.) strongly preferred Government or utility program experience is a plus How to Apply Please Submit Resume Three job references Hourly rate or salary expectation and earliest start date Send applications to: apply via job portal.
