*This position is 100% in-person, onsite, in Kansas City, MO, and does not qualify for any relocation assistance. Prospective candidates must be able to interview in person, if identified for interview stage of the recruitment process.

Job Summary:

The Marketing Event Specialist is responsible for planning, organizing, and executing the company’s presence at trade shows, conferences, and industry events. This role will coordinate event logistics, collateral, signage and giveaways, handle budget management, and communication management among internal stakeholders on activity planning and follow up. The Marketing Event Specialist ensures that all aspects of event participation are managed effectively to maximize brand visibility, generate qualified leads, and strengthen industry relationships.

Essential Functions:

Research and collaborate on selection of trade shows and events aligned with company goals.

Develop event calendars and timelines for all activities.

Trade show planning: register for and plan logistics, ensuring internal teams are prepared for successful trade show attendance. Monitor and evaluate performance metrics to gauge success.

Manage and coordinate events, event sponsorships, and local association memberships for market.

Coordinate booth design, layout, and branding to ensure professional and engaging presence.

Create and maintain budget spending for events, associations and local sponsorships.

Proactively engage with sales, marketing and partner team to identify opportunities, needs, event objectives/goals, target audiences, topics, partner participation.

Handle shipping, setup, and teardown of booths and materials.

Manage vendor relationships for booth construction, AV equipment, and promotional items.

Ensure compliance with event regulations and deadlines.

Identify and coordinate creation of collateral, giveaways and signage at events

Create and manage marketing materials, including brochures, banners, and digital assets.

Collaborate with the marketing team to develop pre-event and post-event campaigns.

Maintain brand consistency across all event touchpoints.

Implement strategies for capturing and qualifying leads during events.

Track ROI and prepare post-event reports analyzing performance and outcomes.

Provide recommendations for future improvements.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift or move office products and supplies, up to 20 pounds.

Required Education/Experience/Certifications:

Bachelor's degree in Marketing or similar. Relevant years of experience considered in lieu of education.

2–4 years of experience in event and/or trade shows planning, facilitating and marketing coordination.

Strong organizational and project management skills with attention to detail.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

Ability to travel as required (up to 30%).

Self-starter, comfortable working in fast-paced, growing environment.

Deadline-driven and process-oriented personality.

Preferred Education/Experience/Certifications :

Event and trade show marketing, planning and implementation in the transportation and/or bus manufacturing and sales industry.

Experience with CRM and event planning software.

Proven track record of delivering target ROI goals for trade shows and events

Travel Requirements:

Up to 30%
