We have a key role as an Account Executive for our Automotive/Local Team in Rochester, New York. This position is part of the Automotive sales team that will drive a retail auto industry transformation. The team builds the strongest portfolio in the industry, providing end‑to‑end digital marketing, wholesale, and commerce solutions for major account automotive segment customers. You will work with an elite team of Sales Executives across Gannett to develop and build exceptional business solutions so our clients can focus on growing their business.

Our teams capitalize on data utilization, leveraging insights for retention and strategic selling opportunities to grow revenue. A proven track record of driving product penetration, upsell, and retention of Major Accounts through acquiring new business and increasing current client spending, while maintaining client satisfaction, is required. In-depth knowledge of the automotive industry is a plus.

Job responsibilities include building solutions, driving results for automotive clients, and developing relationships with senior executives at local dealerships and rooftops. The ideal candidate will have strong tactical and strategic selling skills and experience in both traditional and new media environments.

Responsibilities

Drive product penetration, upsell, and retention of accounts by acquiring new business and increasing current client spending while improving client satisfaction.

Develop relationships with senior executives at local dealerships; gain a deep understanding of the account base and related industries; conduct face‑to‑face sales calls, retention meetings, and provide valuable insights.

Collaborate with Customer Success Management to create custom solutions that deliver ROI to clients, focusing on long‑term commitments and campaigns.

Effectively use SalesForce.com to manage the pipeline, track revenue responsibilities, and produce accurate forecasts.

Create an account plan that shapes a customized account strategy and collaborates to gain market share within the major segment.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in marketing, advertising, or related field.

3 to 5+ years of sales experience with a history of successful sales, innovation, and goal achievement.

Ability to identify client needs, communicate benefits of audience‑based marketing solutions, and sell appropriate campaigns.

Skilled at handling objections and concerns regarding costs, budgets, and selling strategies.

Strong research capability to provide solutions and insights.

Deep understanding of digital media platforms, with proven ability to grow and maintain market share.

Proficient in face‑to‑face sales, up‑selling, appointment setting, and cold calling.

Demonstrated record of success in a goal‑oriented, highly accountable environment, building customer‑based revenue and delivering solutions based on needs.

Team player who manages time effectively, drives initiatives for positive change, and thrives in fast‑paced environments.

Experience with Salesforce or another CRM platform.

Enthusiastic, passionate, and effective in influencing and working in a matrix environment.

Excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
