Bell Nursery is searching for an inside sales associate. This is a full‑time, year‑round office position located in Bridgeton, NJ. The candidate should hold a bachelor’s degree in ornamental horticulture or have comparable experience.
Job Responsibilities
Understand and demonstrate the product or service to the customer
Set and meet sales goals and objectives set by leadership
Conduct outbound calls to potential customers in the designated market
Develop new business opportunities through lead generation and prospecting
Build and maintain strong relationships with clients
Identify customer needs and recommend appropriate products or services
Provide exceptional customer service and address any inquiries or concerns
Respond to customer inquiries regarding company products and services
Process customer phone orders
Check availability of stock and shipping dates
Quote prices, fill orders to customer specifications and process sales data via computer
Assist the outside sales team by preparing prices and sourcing products
Collaborate with the sales team to develop effective sales strategies and achieve sales targets
Maintain accurate records of sales activities, customer interactions, and follow‑up actions in the CRM system
Ideal Candidate Attributes
Bachelor’s degree in ornamental horticulture or comparable experience
Extensive knowledge of ornamental plants
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Excel
Strong attention to detail with exceptional communication skills
Strong analytical abilities and business process knowledge
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with team members
High level of energy and sense of urgency; self‑starter; strong and effective multi‑tasker
Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner
Sales experience
Strong typing skills
Strong accuracy and detail orientation
Bilingual—English and Spanish preferred, but not required
Ability to work full‑time 5 to 6 days a week, with possible weekends and/or holidays
Strong interpersonal, motivating, organizational, and follow‑through skills
Skills and Competencies
Ability to maintain a fair and consistent set of standards as they apply to the workforce
Ability to adjust priorities and manage time wisely in a fast‑paced environment
Ability to communicate in a clear, concise manner
Effective time management, follow‑up and attention to detail
