Outside Sales Representative – Law Enforcement Upfit & Technology Join MacQueen as an Outside Sales Representative. In this role you will build trusted relationships with law‑enforcement agencies, public safety departments, and municipal partners to provide upfitting and technology solutions.

Location: Rapid City, SD | Salary: $50,000.00 – $90,000.00 | Full‑time

Responsibilities

Build trusted relationships with law enforcement agencies, public safety departments, and municipal partners, becoming their go‑to resource for upfitting and technology solutions.

Prospect and visit departments on a defined route to understand their operational needs, equipment challenges, and technology goals.

Demonstrate in‑vehicle technology, equipment configurations, and upfitting capabilities to help agencies make informed decisions.

Prepare accurate quotes, follow up on opportunities, and guide agencies through selection and approval processes.

Represent MacQueen at public safety trade shows, conferences, demonstrations, and regional events to expand awareness and generate leads.

Stay informed on emerging law enforcement technology, upfitting best practices, safety standards, and competitive offerings.

Maintain organized CRM records and provide ongoing updates to leadership on sales activity, pipeline health, and territory performance.

Collaborate closely with internal upfitting teams, technicians, and project managers to ensure a seamless customer experience from order to delivery.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related field preferred.

Minimum of 2 years of outside sales experience, with a focus on prospecting, relationship management, and account growth.

Proven success in meeting or exceeding sales targets within a defined territory.

Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.

Self‑motivated, organized, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.

Excellent time management and planning skills.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with QuickBooks or CRM systems preferred.

Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.

Willingness to travel overnight up to 50% of the time.

Professional demeanor and commitment to delivering exceptional customer service.

Desirable Qualifications

Experience in the equipment, industrial, or manufacturing industry.

Familiarity with technical product sales or solutions‑based selling.

ADA Requirements

Stand, walk, bend, squat, twist, reach or otherwise move frequently.

Occasional repetitive motion and grasping; climbing to reach areas on equipment.

Lift, move or otherwise transfer up to 50 lbs. occasionally, >20 lbs. frequently.

Typically sits, grasp items and performs keyboarding for occasional operation of a computer.

Travel by car frequently, by air occasionally.
