Job Title: Manager 1, Retail Sales Department: University Hospital | University Hospital Gift Shop Location: Rhodes Hall (0354) Position Summary
Performs a variety of duties necessary to foster the continued growth of this multimillion dollar operation. Responsibilities vary from day to day but include knowledge of overall state of the stores, current staffing levels and previous day’s performance. Responsibilities also include company initiatives, fiscal responsibility, ensuring productivity and compliance with Medical Center policies and procedures. This is a leadership role that provides leadership to student staff and part time employees that support the customer experience, overall operations and total store results. This position also coordinates with other managers across job functions to ensure seamless operation of multiple locations. Position Scope
The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center Gift shop is a service organization to patients, visitors and staff of the medical center, helping to increase the reputation and overall satisfaction of the medical center. The gift shops generate over four million dollars in revenue annually. The gift shops offer a full line of merchandise including gifts, clothing, reading materials, confectionery, etc. Responsibilities
Guide a multi-million dollar business by executing all daily, quarterly and seasonal duties of the gift shop locations. Establish success in all aspects of customer service, operations, team development, merchandise presentation and assortment. Lead student staff and part time employees that support the customer experience, operations and total store results. Coordinate with other managers across job functions to ensure seamless operation of multiple locations. Location and Schedule
